How to go to the Belgian Ardennes :

By train :

Reaching Belgium by railway is a very simple matter.. Two international TGV’s circulate daily through it, the Thalys and the Eurostar. Easy and fast therefore to reach Belgium from London, Paris, Cologne or Amsterdam without great effort! These two TGV’s stop, amongst others, in Brussels and Liège.
From these two cities a large choice of trains of the SNCB (Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Belges) network give easy access, amongst other places, to Marche-en-Famenne, Libramont or Arlon.
Frequent direct line departures (every 30 min approximately) to Arlon are on offer from the station of Bruxelles-Midi.

By plane :

The closest airports are those of Brussels, Liège, Charleroi and Luxembourg-city. Each of them offers various and useful services and provides rather easy access to the Belgian territory.

  • The Belgian company SN Brussels Airlines offers, from many countries, a direct access to Brussels.
  • The airport of Luxembourg is served by Luxair and is a direct geographical approach to the Belgian Ardennes.
  • The airports of Charleroi and Liège (Bierset) allow cheaper travel as they are served by a number of low-cost airlines.

By car :

All roads lead to the Ardennes !
From stations and airports, large motorways allow for fluid travel by car.

  • The E411 motorway links Brussels to Luxembourg-city via the Belgian Ardennes. This major road facilitates access to the whole province as it’s completed by the National 4, thus offering a good coverage of the Ardennes territory.
  • The E25/A6 links the Netherlands to France passing, amongst others, through Maastricht and Metz. It also crosses the Province of Luxembourg and crosses the E411 motorway. Its network is also completed by the National 89 passing through Bouillon to join the National 4.

The Province of Luxembourg is therefore located around a large motorway network and benefits from a widely spread network while preserving the beauty of the local landscapes. The numerous secondary possibilities given the car drivers also give more fluidity to the motorway traffic. Mobility in the Ardennes is therefore not a problem.
